Orthodontics, Invisalign & Healthy Start
Why Your Bite Actually Matters!
Straight teeth are only part of the story. At Waterford Dental, orthodontics is about how teeth, jaws, and airway work together. We pay close attention to facial growth, breathing patterns, and bite function so your or your child’s orthodontic plan supports long term health, not just appearance.
Because everything is under one roof, families in Bennington can have cleanings, airway screenings, and orthodontic guided care in the same office instead of bouncing between multiple locations. See Dr Melissa explain the importance of a good bite!

Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to gradually move teeth into better alignment. It is a popular choice for adults and teens who want straighter teeth without metal brackets.
Your Invisalign process typically includes:
A full exam that looks at teeth, gums, jaw joints, and airway
Digital scans and photos to map out your tooth movement
A clear preview of your expected result and timeline
Regular check ins to monitor progress and make adjustments
We batch aligner visits and protect our schedule so your appointments are efficient without feeling rushed. Before starting, we make sure gums are healthy and discuss any grinding or TMJ issues so your treatment is as stable and comfortable as possible.

Healthy Start is an early intervention system that uses comfortable, child friendly appliances to guide jaw growth, support nasal breathing, and create space for incoming teeth. It is especially helpful for kids who show signs of crowding, mouth breathing, snoring, or restless sleep.
In a Healthy Start evaluation, we:
Review sleep and behavior symptoms such as snoring, bedwetting, or daytime fatigue
Check how your child breathes, rests their lips, and positions their tongue
Look at jaw growth, spacing, and eruption patterns of the teeth
Discuss whether an appliance could help guide growth during key developmental years
The goal is to address problems early while bones are still developing, which can reduce the need for more intensive treatment later. This fits our vision of being a regional hub for family airway and orthodontic guided care, while keeping the small practice feel families love.
Appliances are typically worn at night and sometimes for short periods during the day. We coach parents and kids through each step, track progress together, and adjust the plan as your child grows.
